In Wes Anderson‘s Rushmore, Jason Schwartzmann‘s character (Max Fischer) directs incredible high-school plays based on famous movies.
When the film was released, MTV asked Anderson to direct short skits based on some of the nominated films of that year (in that case The Truman show, Armaggedon and Out of sight) with the same cast and the same soundtrack (Mark Mothersbaugh‘s score & The Creation‘s Making time).
It almost acts as a spin-off of the movie and was featured as such in its Criterion’s DVD edition.
